Wildflowers in bed of rocks
When my friend asked me
To spend a summer in his cottage
I never thought it was an invitation
To a land of dream come true.
Solitary cottage beside a lake
Spread across miles
Distant horizon lined by green hills
Blue sky reflecting on serene lake.
Never will I forget the dance
Of raindrops on that water
Or the soft ripples
Created by playful breeze.
Red glow of sun at dusk, dawn
Silver glow of glorious moon
Haunting songs of night creatures
Ecstatic melody of children of day.
